Blackberry Bourbon Mulled Wine

Perfect for winos. Or for bourbon-os. You get the picture.

Serves 4-6

 

1 bottle red wine

1/2 cup bourbon 

1/2- 3/4 cup Blackberry Mulled Merlot Jam

1 cup orange juice

2 ea. blood oranges, sliced 

1/2 cup blackberries 

3 ea. cinnamon sticks

5 ea. star anise 

1 tsp. cloves

1/2 cup brown sugar (optional)

 

1. In a pot over low heat add wine, bourbon, jam and orange juice. Whisk to combine.

2. Add sliced oranges, blackberries, cinnamon sticks, star anise and cloves. Bring to a simmer. 

3. Add brown sugar if it needs to be sweetened more.

4. Pour into cups and add additional orange slices, blackberries, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves to garnish. Enjoy warm!
